Strength Training for Padel: A Practical Gym Guide

Padel asks you to accelerate, stop, rotate and reach repeatedly. Two consistent full-body sessions each week can build a useful base around regular court time.

What strength matters for padel?

Strong legs and hips help you move efficiently and stay balanced. Trunk strength transfers force while resilient shoulders support volleys and overhead shots.

A simple two-day plan

Combine squats or step-ups, a hip hinge, a push, a pull and anti-rotation trunk work. Use controlled repetitions and leave two or three good repetitions in reserve.

Fit strength work around court time

Avoid your hardest leg session immediately before an important match. Progress gradually and stop if pain changes how you move.
